This coleslaw is so good it never lasts for 9 days. My grandmother that lived in Haskell Oklahoma her entire life was a wonderful, old fashioned, country cook. We loved it when my Father would say that we were going to Oklahoma for vacation. There was always an abundance of food for whomsoever walked thru grannys door. It was a warm and friendly place to be. I miss her so much.

Ingredients For my granny helen's 9 day slaw

3 lbcabbage shredded

1 lgred onion diced small

1 lgyellow pepper diced small

3 lgcarrots shredded

2 csugar
-
1 Tbspcelery salt

1 cwhite vinegar

1 tspsalt

1/2 tsppepper
-
1 csalad or canola oil
How To Make my granny helen's 9 day slaw

1Combine first 4 ingredients and pour sugar on all. Mix with hands until well covere

2Place next 5 ingredients into a saucepan and bring to a boil

3Pour over cabbage mixture and cool. Cover and store in refrigerator. You can pray that it lasts 9 days but good luck with that
