Even the grandkids go back for seconds of this sweet and sour cold veggie salad. I have no idea where the original recipe came from; it's been a staple in my family for years.

Ingredients For mixed vegetable salad

  • 2 10oz pkg
    frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 can
    kidney beans
  • 2 c
    chopped celery
  • 1
    onion, chopped fine
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 c
    white vinegar

How To Make mixed vegetable salad

  • 1
    cook vegetables according to package directions, drain and cool
  • 2
    heat sugar, flour and vinegar to a boil, remove from heat and cool
  • 3
    wash kidney beans and drain
  • 4
    mix together vegetables, beans, celery and onions
  • 5
    pour vinegar/sugar mixture over vegetables, toss to coat and refrigerate at least one hour before serving
