Ingredients For marinated cole slaw

  • 1(large)
    cabbage head
  • 1
    carrot (optional)
  • 1
    green bell pepper
  • 1
    onion
  • 3/4 c
    plus 2 tablespoons oil
  • 3/4 c
    plus 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    celery seed

How To Make marinated cole slaw

  • 1
    Shred cabbage and carrot.
  • 2
    Chop pepper and onion. Mix and set aside.
  • 3
    In saucepan, make marinade of oil,vinegar,sugar and salt and celery seed
  • 4
    Pour over slaw and do not stir.
  • 5
    Cover and marinate overnight.
  • 6
    Serve with slotted spoon. Stays crisp 7 to 10 days.
