How To Make joe mccully's famous new york style coleslaw
-
1Mix cabbage with scant amount of cole slaw dressing. Mix will look dry but will moisten overnight. Add a sprinkle of celery salt, tarragon to taste. You do not need to much. Taste the slaw.
-
2Refrigerate overnight. This is the key to the best slaw. If it is not moist enough, add a bit more dressing. Do not drown the slaw. Taste it again for seasoning.
-
3Note: Dad's slaw recipe was much more complex but this recipe is as close as it gets. Dad never gave me the recipe...I watched him make it and copied his style.
