Ingredients For grandmas dandelion salad ( lowenzahnsalat)

  • 1 lb
    young dandelions
  • 4 slice
    bacon (diced)
  • 3 md
    onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    water
  • 2 tsp
    finley chopped herbs (she don't say what but i used parsley and some garlic)

How To Make grandmas dandelion salad ( lowenzahnsalat)

    Remove blossoms from dandelions (save) grandma used the tops to make wine.

    Cut stems and youngest leaves into small pieces and wash.

    Fry bacon and onions, place in salad bowl together with dandelion leaves. (I did not drain all the grease from the bacon and onions left about 1 Tablespoon but did cool it a little before adding it to the dandelion.)
  • 4
    Combine vinegar, sugar,salt,water and herbs to make a salad dressing. Pour over salad and toss just before serving.
