Ingredients For freezer coleslaw

1medium to large head of cabbage, shredded

1large carrot, grated

1green pepper, chopped
-
1small onion, finely chopped

1 tspsalt
- SYRUP: MIX THE NEXT FIVE INGREDIENTS IN A SAUCEPAN AND BOIL FOR ONE MINUTE

2 cwhite sugar

1 cvinegar, white is best

1/4 cwater
-
1 tspcelery seed
-
1 tspmustard seed
How To Make freezer coleslaw

1Mix the first five ingredients together in a very large bowl. Let stand at room temperature for one hour.

2Cool the syrup to room temperature. Pour the syrup over the cabbage mixture in bowl and mix well. Put into the size freezer containers you want for serving. FREEZE.

3To serve, thaw 45 minutes at room temperature. Best with a LITTLE frozen ice in it at serving time.

4This is very sweet but is delicious and good served fresh too. Two bags of store bought shredded cabbage with carrot is fine. Will keep in the freezer for many months.
