Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by Lawanda Patterson

No-Cook or Other
Ingredients For cucumber salad

1 mdonion, thick sliced

4 mdcucumbers, peeled and thick sliced

1 1/2 cvinegar

3/4 csugar

3/4 tspsalt

1/8 tsppepper

3 Tbspchopped parsley
How To Make cucumber salad

1Separate thick sliced onions into rings and place onion rings and cucumbers in a bowl.

2Combine other ingredients and mix well; pour over onions and cucumbers.

3Refrigerate at least 3 hours. If too tart, you may add up to 1/2 cup water to dilute it to taste.
