Light, crisp, savory, and sweet are the words that come to mind when I describe this salad. Everybody wants to make it... there are so many versions and I decided to change mine up a bit with Parmesan cheese... it complements the other flavors so well.... you can adjust the amount of dressing you make depending on how wet you like it.... great for summer gatherings!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

There are many versions of this classic summertime broccoli salad recipe out there. We love Mary Kay's twist with Parmesan, cranberries, and pine nuts. The combination of bacon and Parmesan cheese make this a savory salad. Cranberries not only add color but a nice sweet contrast in flavor. Pine nuts throughout are a pop of crunch. The sweet and tangy dressing is creamy and brings the broccoli salad together. Overall this side dish is sweet, tangy, and savory all at once. It's going to be a hit at a summer cookout or pot luck.
