holiday cranberry-orange spiced salad

This is no regular cranberry salad as the cinnamon and cloves jazz up the cranberry/orange flavor. Great addition to holiday meals. Pretty color makes it festive.

Ingredients For holiday cranberry-orange spiced salad

  • 11/2 c
    cranberries, fresh
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 pkg
    gelatin, orange (3 oz size)
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 c
    water, boiling hot
  • 1 1/2 c
    water, cold
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 1/8 tsp
    cloves, ground
  • 1
    orange, peeled & diced small
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts, chopped

How To Make holiday cranberry-orange spiced salad

  • 1
    Grind cranberries with sugar; set aside. Food processor works nicely.

    Dissolve gelatin & salt in boiling water; add cold water, lemon juice, cinnamon & cloves & blend thoroughly. Chill until thickened.

    Fold cranberry mixture, orange & walnuts. Spoon into a 6 cup mold or pretty bowl. Chill until set.
