In my neck of the woods older folks would make this. I know it sounds bad, but it is really good. This is an old recipe. My aunt who was born in the 1800's used to make it and I used to eat it up quickly.

Ingredients For wilted lettuce salad

bibb or leaf lettuce

chopped green onions, green included

4-6 sliced bacon, cooked

1 teaspoon sugar

vinegar for drizzling
How To Make wilted lettuce salad

1Wash lettuce and onion. Tear lettuce into pieces. Chop onion and mix with lettuce. Crumbl

2Cook bacon until crispy. Set aside to cool.

3Add sugar to hot bacon grease. Stir til dissolved.

4Add vinegar to taste.

5Crumble bacon and add to lettuce.

6Pour hot bacon grease mixture over lettuce and serve.

7It's probably not very healthy for you, but it is good.
