I had left-over steak (T-bone too big for two of us to finish)! So threw this together based on my memory of a great "black and blue" salad at a local restaurant!

Ingredients For speedy steak salad

  • 5 oz
    medium rare steak, sliced thinly
  • garlic salt
  • 4 c
    iceberg lettuce, torn into pieces
  • 1/4 c
    sweet onion, chopped
  • 2 lg
    mushrooms, sliced (baby bella or button)
  • 2 Tbsp
    blue cheese crumbles
  • 1/2
    avocado, diced
  • 2 Tbsp
    balsamic vinegarette dressing
  • garlic croutons (optional)

How To Make speedy steak salad

  • 1
    Warm steak briefly in a hot cast iron pan. Sprinkle with garlic salt.

    In two large salad bowls, place 1/2 of all the other ingredients
  • 3
    If not using croutons, serve with toasted garlic bread.
