I've made this salad with many variations. If strawberries aren't your thing, use raspberries or blueberries. You can use any type of lettuce, and any vegetables that you want to add in. It truly is delicious with many combinations. My mother taught me to make this salad dressing when I was just a kid. She always made homemade dressings, and this is my favorite. Thanks, Mom!

  • 2 bag
    salad mix, any kind
  • 1/2
    cucumber, finely chopped
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans
  • 2 can
    mandarin oranges, well drained
  • 1 c
    sliced strawberrie
  • 1 c
    miracle whip
  • 1/4 c
    yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp
    white vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar

How To Make mandarin salad

  • 1
Make the dressing first. Combine the Miracle Whip, mustard, vinegar, and sugar.
  • 2
Stir gently, taste to see if you want more sugar, mustard, etc., and add accordingly. Make it your own!
  • 3
While the dressing is blending its flavors, mix the salad and cucumber together. Then add the dressing a little at a time, mixing well. It may not take the whole bowl of dressing. Use your own judgment. Then gently fold in the drained oranges, pecans, and strawberrie. Enjoy!
