This is one of our favorite salads ... good because you can make ahead of time, travels well ... always a favorite of everyone at cookouts! This is a easy salad to make only half for 2-3 people.

Ingredients For layered salad

  • 1
    head lettuce or pkg. of shredded iceburg or any lettuce mix you like
  • 1
    finely chopped green or red or orange pepper
  • 1 sm
    finely chopped sweet onion
  • 1 pkg
    frozen green peas
  • 6-8 slice
    crisp fried bacon (crumbled) or pkg'd cooked crumbled bacon
  • 4
    hard boiled eggd, chopped fine
  • 1 1/2 c
    cheese, shredded (i use colby-monteray jack)
  • DRESSING
  • 1 c
    miracle whip
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1/4 c
    sugar -or- 2 tbs splenda

How To Make layered salad

  • 1
    Layer thru peas ... spread dressing on top
  • 2
    layer rest of ingredients ...
  • 3
    cover with lid or wrap,refrigerate 2-24 hours.
  • 4
    Don't mix ... just scoop out your servings.
