We made this in Eagle River starting in 2000, and I really enjoyed it with the combination of cheeses! I preferred this one, so it was my birthday salad. Jen prefers the original with cheddar, so that was her birthday salad.

1/2bowl crisp lettuce

1/2green bell pepper, sliced thin

2 stalkcelery, sliced thin

1 smonion, sliced thin

1 boxfrozen peas, cooked and drained

1 cansliced waterchestnuts

1 Tbspsugar

salt and pepper
-
grated swiss cheese
-
grated romano cheese

1/2-1 cmayonnaise

1/2-1 csour cream
-
bacos (i actually buy the softer bacon bits in the bag for everything but this salad...use the harder bacos)

1Layer vegetables in order given. Sprinkle with sugar. Mix equal parts mayo and sour cream and spread on top. Mix equal parts cheeses and spread on top. Sprinkle with bacos. Seal and chill at least 12 hours.
