Layered lettuce salads were my favorite when I chose my birthday meal. The original recipe used cheddar, this one is now my very favorite! Enjoy!

Ingredients For layerd lettuce salad (swiss)

1/2bowl crisp lettuce

1/2green bell pepper, sliced thin

2 stalkcelery, sliced thin

1 Tbspsugar

1 smonion, sliced thin

1 boxfrozen peas, cooked and drained

1 cansliced water chestnuts
-
1/2-1 cmayo
-
1/2-1 csour cream
-
grated swiss cheese
-
grated romano cheese
-
salt and pepper
-
bacos
How To Make layerd lettuce salad (swiss)

1Layer vegetables in order given. Sprinkle with sugar. Mix equal parts mayo and sour cream and spread on top. Mix equal parts cheeses and spread on top, then cover with bacos. Seal and chill at least 12 hours.
