I love making a batch of this for Sunday Supper; it's just about enough to feed us all! I don't usually use "name brands" but it seems to me that real Campbell's Tomato Soup gives this its characteristic orange color, whereas the generic versions are paler. Sometimes, you just have to "splurge".

1 csalad oil (blends ok, but not leftover fry oil)

3/4 cwhite sugar

1 cancondensed tomato soup (see note above)

1/2 cwhite vinegar

1/8 tspgarlic powder

1 1/8 tspdry yellow mustard

1 tspsalt

1 tspcelery seed

1/4 tsppepper

1Whisk together the soup with the vinegar first, then add all the other ingredients s-l-o-w-l-y so it doesn't get curdly looking (still tastes great though!). Chill for 30 minutes if you have time.

2You can see what happens if you decide to take a shortcut and blend everything together, like Rebekah did! That's Ok, we ate it anyway! It was a good lesson for her in patience, temperance and self-control.
