This salad is fast to prepare or may be prepped ahead of time and quickly tossed together just before serving. My family also loves to eat the leftover salad the next day, which is why I always make a double batch.

Ingredients For crunchy chopped salad

  • DRESSING INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 c
    canola oil
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • SALAD INGREDIENTS
  • 1 lg
    lettuce head, thinly sliced & cut croswise
  • 8 slice
    bacon, cooked crisp & chopped
  • 1/3 c
    sliced almonds, toasted
  • 1/4 c
    sunflower seeds, toasted
  • 6
    green onions, sliced
  • 3/4 c
    chow mein noodles

How To Make crunchy chopped salad

    In a jar with a tight fitting lid combine oil, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper. Shake well, making sure the sugar is dissolved.

    Combine lettuce, bacon, almonds, sunflower seeds and onion in a large bowl.
  • 3
    Shake the dressing before adding to the salad and toss well.
  • 4
    Top with chow mein noodles.
