A nice tossed salad that goes well with any thing.We love having it with steak. This is a family favorite. A great way to get them to eat their greens.

Ingredients For strawberry salad with poppy seed dressing

fresh baby spinach or romaine lettus

16 ozstrawberries sliced in half long wise

1 smred oinion sliced in thin rounds

12 ozcandied walnuts
-
1 8oz pkgfeta or blue cheese
- CANDIED WALNUTS

1/2 cbrown sugar
-
1 Tbspbutter
-
12 ozwalnut halves
- POPPY SEED DRESSING
-
1/4 csugar
-
2 Tbspsesame seeds
-
1 Tbsppoppy seeds

1 1/2 tspminced onion
-
1/4 tspworchester sauce
-
1/4 tsppaprika
-
1/4 ccider vinegar
-
1/2 ccanola oil add last
How To Make strawberry salad with poppy seed dressing

1Start with your candied walnuts,preheat oven to 450degrees,cover a cookie sheet with foil,in a small sauce pan melt butter and add brown sugar, over a medium heat melt the sugar and cook it til dark brown not burnt.

2Add in walnut halves stir making sure all the walnuts are coated with carmalized sugar. spread them out on foil covered cookie sheet.

3Place in 450 degree oven for 5 min. center of walnut halves will be tender and golden in color.set aside and let cool

4While walnuts are cooling put together the rest of your salad ingredients into a med to large serving bowl.when cool add the walnuts make sure you add the sugar crumbs left on the cookie sheet.

5Give the salad a gentle toss and arrange stawberries and walnuts on top to look pretty.

6Make your dressing just before serving shake or wisk to blend and pour over salad.
