I remember my Mamma making this every Thanksgiving or Christmas. It was a tradition that went on for many years. I found a handwritten version of this recipe folded and put in one of my old cookbooks.

Ingredients For old-fashioned holiday fruit salad

28 oz packages cream cheese

1/2 csugar

2(12 oz) containers frozen whipped topping, thawed

6bananas, peeled and sliced

2 can(15.25) crushed pineapple, drained

2 can(15.25) fruit coctail, drained

2granny smith apples, peeled and chopped

1 1/3 csweetened, flaked coconut
-
2 jar(4 oz) marischino cherries, drained and halved

1 cpecans, chopped

1 cgolden raisins
How To Make old-fashioned holiday fruit salad

1Beat the cream cheese and sugar together in a large bowl.

2Using a hand mixer on high speed, beat in the whipped topping.

3Gently fold in the bananas, pineapple, fruit cocktail, apple, cherries, pecan pieces and raisins.

4Pour into a serving dish and chill at least 2 hours before serving.
