This is a showy dish that also happens to taste divine. It can't be made too far ahead of time, however, as the fruit needs to be fresh for the full effect and taste.

4oranges, peeled and membrane removed

4apples, unpeeled but cored

4bananas peeled

1fresh pineapple peeled and cored (or 1 can pineapple slices drained)

3limes, peeled and membrane removed

1/4 cgrnulated sugar

1 cnuts, chopped

1 corange juice or tart french dressing

1lettuce head (romaine or iceberg)
How To Make christmas eve fruit salad (sallye)

1Line a large shallow bowl or serving platter with lettuce leaves (overlap as in a petal formation)

2Thinly slice fruits across the horizontal circumfirence Arrange fruits in layers over the lettuce bed in the order called out in ingredients Sprinkle with sugar and chopped nuts

3Just before serving, pour juice or dressing over entire mixture
