Here is a simply ambrosia salad. No marshmallows or cool whip here! I think this is closer to what the Greek gods and goddesses enjoyed!

Ingredients For ambrosia salad

  • 2 can
    of chunk or tidbits of pineapples, drained (20 oz each)
  • 2 can
    of mandarin orange segments, drained (11 oz each)
  • 1 c
    vanilla yogurt
  • 1 c
    flaked or shredded coconut (i used a 2/3 cup and 1/4 cup, and it was perfect!)
  • walnuts, if desired (i think around 1 cup would be ideal)

How To Make ambrosia salad

  • 1
    Mix ingredients in a large bowl. I did it in this order, pineapples, oranges, coconut and yogurt. But it shouldn't matter.

    Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least two hours. (I left mine in overnight and it was wonderful.)

    Serve chilled. You can add nuts to the whole thing if your guests all like them, if not leave them to the side so people can add it to their own dish.
