This Stromboli sandwich is perfect for your next game night or tailgate. It's hearty and jam-packed with meats and gooey cheese. We love that the sauce is added so the sandwich isn't dry. Quick and easy, this will serve a crowd or feed a family for dinner.

Ingredients For super-size stromboli sandwich

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lb
    pork sausage
  • 1
    green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 jar
    pizza sauce (14 oz)
  • 1 tsp
    Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried basil
  • 1
    loaf Italian bread
  • 1 pkg
    sliced pepperoni
  • 2 c
    shredded mozzarella cheese

How To Make super-size stromboli sandwich

  • Browning ground beef, sausage, bell pepper, onion, salt, and pepper.

    Preheat oven to 350 F. Fry ground beef, sausage, bell pepper, onion, salt, and pepper until browned; drain well.
  • Pizza sauce and seasonings added to the beef.

    Add pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, and basil. Stir to coat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Split Italian bread in half lengthwise. Place on a large sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil. Place a layer of pepperoni on the bottom half of the bread.

    Add a layer of the meat mixture.

    Sprinkle the top with the mozzarella cheese.

    Place top half of bread on the layers.

    Wrap foil tightly around the sandwich. Bake 15 minutes.
