Ingredients For mac & cheese with veggies

  • 16 oz
    box of elbow macaroni, cooked al dente
  • 1 lg
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1
    green pepper, chopped
  • 2
    stalks of celery, chopped
  • 1 sm
    green chiles, drained (4 oz)
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 6 Tbsp
    all-purpose flour
  • 2 c
    heavy whipping cream
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 4 c
    shredded cheddar (you can use a combo of different cheese if you like)
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    white pepper

How To Make mac & cheese with veggies

  • Butter added to cooked macaroni.

    Cut the butter into small pieces. Stir it with the warm macaroni to melt.
  • Remaining ingredients mixed into macaroni.

    Combine all remaining ingredients.
  • Macaroni poured into casserole dish and baking in the oven.

    Put into a greased casserole dish. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. You might have to cover it with foil if it starts to get too brown.
