I do not know anything about mushroom or fungi...I just enjoyed taking these photos. Last year (2010), during elk season, the wild mushrooms were so thick everywhere..I started carring my camera around when I could and took photos of all the different types(at first my husband was not amused, but then he was pointing them out). I did run into some that looked really close to the morels.(to late in the fall for it to be them) But every time I didn't pack my camera, I would see them.. The one that is posted for the main photo, is really a baby conk..Artist conk? This was growing on the side of a tree that was laying across the trail. As I stooped to go under, I saw this amazing one driping with dew. It was growing in a very dry area.
