jap on a kindle
(5 ratings)
This recipe explains how to get a recipe from JAP onto your Kindle (or similar e-reading device). A Kindle is just the right size to bring a recipe from the internet to the kitchen. It is much better than scribbling a recipe on the back of an envelope if your computer isn't attached to a printer. Here, in the form of a recipe, are step-by-step instructions for getting a recipe from JAP onto a basic Kindle. It should also work with variations on other e-readers and other recipe sources.

How To Make jap on a kindle
-
1Call up the JAP recipe of your choice. Click the print button JAP provides to get a printer-friendly display of the recipe.
-
2This is the printer friendly display.
-
3Use your browser to "Save page as" and choose "text files" or ".txt" as the document type. Remember where you saved this file.
-
4Using the USB cord, plug your kindle into your computer and turn it on. Your computer should recognize it as an external disc drive just as it recognizes a flash stick.
-
5On your computer, call up the directory of files. On most this will involve clicking "computer" or "my computer" on the start menu.
-
6Find the directory that has the recipe file in it. The name of the file will be the name of the recipe with hyphens between the words and the .txt, e.g. "heavenly-hard-rolls.txt"
-
7Find the kindle in the list of drives in the left hand column. Click on the little arrow to show the directories on your kindle.
-
8Drag and drop the recipe file onto the documents file on your Kindle.
-
9Safely unplug the Kindle using the safe way to remove hardware for your computer.
-
10The recipe will be listed just like a book title on your Kindle. Take your Kindle to the kitchen and cook. No, not cook the Kindle -- make the recipe!
- Last Step: Don't forget to share! Make all your friends drool by posting a picture of your finished recipe on your favorite social network. And don't forget to tag Just A Pinch and include #justapinchrecipes so we can see it too!
