  May 26,2009 “Angels help lead us out of our own darkness and into God’s light” You are my angel Diggy and my life is so much richer because of you. What a beautiful day it was when you came into our lives. I knew the minute I saw you that you were special. Even though you lived in a shelter for a year after being found half starved you never held that against anyone.. You were gentle, sweet and loving. We all could learn so much from you if we would just open our hearts and minds. We had six months, 2 weeks and one day with you. Not nearly enough time but enough to know that you were even more special than we thought. From the moment you walked into your new home with us you were a perfect fit. I laugh now, despite my tears, thinking of you and that first night how we woke to find you sleeping on the sofa or the many times I hurt watching as you struggled to get up stairs despite the pain in your legs where we were working just to be close to us and how comforting your presence was to us having you lay at our feet. Your patience was astounding. You never once hurried us but instead you sat and waited for us. You were the one that taught us to slow down and just be. How you loved our walks in the woods!! I admire your bravery in those last few days when your pain must have been excruciating but you suffered in silence not once even whimpering or crying out .I am so sorry that I didn’t see it right away and I pray that you will forgive this stupid, ignorant human. You changed my life Diggy and for that I will always be thankful. You brought your own special love and with that you opened my eyes to so much more. I am so honoured that you chose us. I thank God for you. Run free Diggy my dearest sweet friend. I love you so very, very much.
