Doggies need treats too!!! This treat has Carob chips in it. These are like chocolate chips, but are not chocolate and they are safe for dogs. I did look this up because my dog has a sensitive tummy. They can be found in health food stores, by yogurt or by chocolate chips. If you cannot find Carob chips, you can make them, however, you would still need to hunt down the carob powder to do so. For more info on this you can go to eHow food and put in carob chips.

Ingredients For doggie biscotti

  • 2 c
    whole wheat flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 2 pinch
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 c
    chunky peanut butter
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    carob chips

How To Make doggie biscotti

  • 1
Preheat the oven to 400°. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Place the peanut butter in a medium bowl and microwave at high power to soften, 5 to 10 seconds. Whisk in the milk, then stir the mixture into the dry ingredients.
  • 2
Shape the dough into a long, flattened log and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes; remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Slice the log crosswise on an angle into 1-inch-thick pieces with a serrated knife. Set the slices on their sides (they should look like biscotti) and bake until crisp, 10 to 12 minutes more. Transfer to a rack to cool.

Melt the carob in a microwave or on the stovetop over low heat. Thin the melted carob with 1 tablespoon water, if needed. Using a spoon, drizzle the melted carob over the biscotti. Let cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

Even if you do not have a pet, these are a cute way to give as gifts to friends and family that have dogs or just purchased or adopted a new dog. This way they do not feel left out.
