Ingredients For maple flavored sweet potato casserole

  • 6 lb. sweet potato
  • 1/2 C. unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 C. heavy cream
  • 2 Tbs. maple syrup (pure)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • Topping:
  • 1 C. light brown sugar
  • 1/3 C. self rising flour
  • 1/3 C. butter (melted)
  • 1 1/2 C. pecans (chopped)

How To Make maple flavored sweet potato casserole

    Preheat oven to 400F. Prick each potato twice with a fork and bake in a foil lined shallow baking pan until very tender (about 1 hour). Remove and cool slightly. Halve potatoes lengthwise and scoop out the warm flesh into a large bowl. Mash potatoes with a potato masher or for a smoother puree, process through a food processor. Stir in butter, cream, syrup, salt, and pepper Pour into buttered dish To prepare topping, combine brown sugar, pecans, flour and melted butter. Spread topping on top of casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 / 40 minutes
