Ingredients For teriyaki glazed duck breast with plums

    duck breast
  • 2
    plums
  • 1/3 c
    brown sugar
  • 1
    star anise
  • 1
    cinnamon stick
  • 2 Tbsp
    rice vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp
    teriyaki sauce
  • cilantro for garnish

How To Make teriyaki glazed duck breast with plums

    Cut the plums in half and discard the seeds. Place them in a saucepan with the sugar, star anise and cinnamon stick. When the sugar starts to carmelize add the vinegar.

    Let simmer while cooking the breasts. Score the skin of each breast and season with salt and pepper. Place the breast on a grill pan or skillet skin side down. Weight the breast down with a can or brick. Cook 4 minutes. Remove the can and turn the breast over and cook another 4 minutes. Turn the breasts over again and spoon the Teriyaki sauce over the breast. Set them aside on a carving board and let rest 5 minutes

    To serve spoon the plums onto the serving plate. Slice the breast and place on top and garnish with cilantro.
