turkey spaghetti

I love using Italian seasoned ground turkey and happened to have these ingredients. Also, crushed tomatoes have fewer preservatives, etc, than jarred spaghetti sauce.

Ingredients For turkey spaghetti

  • 1 lb
    italian seasoned lean ground turkey
  • 1 c
    chopped peppers - any color
  • 1/2 c
    onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp
    garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp
    basil, dried
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt, or to taste
  • 28 oz can
    crushed tomatoes
  • parmesan cheese, for garnish
  • 4 oz
    whole wheat spaghetti (or what you consider enough for 4 servings)

How To Make turkey spaghetti

  • 1
    Break up ground turkey as it browns in a large skillet. Add chopped peppers and onion. Saute for a few minutes until softened,then add garlic. Add seasonings. Simmer, covered, on low.

    Meanwhile, prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain.

    Either mix together with sauce, or serve pasta with sauce on top. Garnish with grated parmesan.

    Nice with a green salad and garlic toast.
