This is my healthy version of my greek stuffed burger. It's just as tasty but alot less fat and calories. Some of my changes were: ground beef/lamb...ground turkey feta cheese...fat free feta greek yogurt...fat free greek yogurt caramelized onions...grilled onions I'm revising some of my favorite recipes so that they will be healthier. Ingredients For low fat/low carb greek stuffed burger

  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground turkey
  • 2 Tbsp
    parsley, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    oregano, dried
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh mint chopped
  • 1 tsp
    thyme, dried
  • 1 sm
    onion, grated
  • 3 lg
    garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 md
    lemon juice
  • 1 md
    lemon zest, grated
  • 1 tsp
    crushed pepper flakes
  • 4 oz
    feta cheese, fat free
  • 1 lg
    onion, sliced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • fat free extra virgin olive oil spray/for grill
  • TZATZIKI SAUCE
  • 8 oz
    greek yogurt, fat free
  • 1 sm
    kirby cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 tsp
    dill, dried
  • 2 md
    garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh mint, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp
    red wine vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make low fat/low carb greek stuffed burger

    Mix and chill tzatziki sauce for at 30 minutes

    In a large bowl add turkey and the next 9 ingredients. Mix well.

    Make 8 (3)inch patties. On 4 patties add 1 oz of feta cheese. Top the 4 patties with the other 4 patties. Pinch the sides to make 4 burgers.

    Lightly brush onion slices with oil and season with a little salt and pepper. Lightly brush a little oil on both sides of the burger to prevent sticking.

    Spray grill grates with oil. Heat grill to medium high temperture. Add burgers and onion slices

    Grill burgers and onions about 5-6 minutes on each side or until done.

    Top your burgers with the cool and refreshing tzatziki sauc, grilled onions and chunks of tomato.
