Blue Ribbon Recipe
Terrific turkey with a delicious and EASY twist! Follow Sherri's directions and you will have the perfect holiday turkey. The turkey is tender and juicy. The flavor from the apples in the cavity permeates the meat. We found it most noticeable in the dark meat. The apple juice poured on top caramelizes in the baking process and gives the turkey a sweet and savory flavor. A fantastic centerpiece for your holiday meal.

Test Kitchen Tips
We recommend using a meat thermometer while cooking. Our turkey took about an hour longer to cook than the instructions. The turkey thigh should read 180 degrees and the turkey breast 170 degrees.
-
1Heat oven to 325. Line a large roasting pan with foil.
-
2Place turkey in pan. Rub inside and outside of turkey with salt and pepper. Stuff apples inside the turkey.
-
3Pour apple juice over turkey.
-
4Pour broth into the bottom of the pan.
-
5Sprinkle turkey with sage.
-
6Loosely cover turkey with foil. Roast 3 hours.
-
7Remove foil and roast another 30-60 minutes, brushing with liquid until the bird is no longer pink inside.
