How To Make steak & onions

  • 1
Trim excess fat from meat. Cut meat into THIN strips.
  • 2
Combine flour, salt, pepper, paprika and mustard in a large zipper bag or large bowl, mix well. Add steak strips to flour mixture and shake to coat steak.
  • 3
Melt 1/3 of the butter in large heavy skillet. Add garlic, saute until golden brown. Remove from pan and set aside.
  • 4
Melt 1/3 more butter. Saute onions until tender but not brown, 6-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • 5
Heat remaining butter, saute steak strips until browned. Add bouillon, garlic and onions.
  • 6
Stir to dissolve browned bits in skillet. Simmer, uncovered, 15-20 minutes, until meat is tender and mixture is thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • 7
Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and sour cream. Heat until just warm.
