Ingredients For shaker steak

1 1/2 lbflank steak

2 Tbspall-purpose flour

2 Tbspbutter, melted

1 lgonion, finely chopped

1 mdgreen bell pepper, finely chopped

1 stalkcelery, finely chopped

1carrot, scraped and finely chopped

1 Tbsplemon juice
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1/4 tsppepper
-
2 Tbspketchup
-
1/2-1 cwater
-
hot cooked rice or egg noodles
How To Make shaker steak

1Score the steak in a diamond design 1/4 inch deep on both sides; rub the flour on both sides of the steak.

2Cook steak in melted butter in a large skillet over medium heat until browned on both sides. Add the onion and the next 3 ingredients; sprinkle with lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

3Combine the ketchup and 1/2 cup of water; pour over the meat. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until the steak is tender. Add an additional 1/2 cup of water if needed. Serve over rice or noodles.
