guava glazed pork chops

I got this recipe from a site that states it's a copycat of Bahama Breeze's original recipe. It's an easy recipe that requires minimal work of marinating pork chops, and then grilling and basting them with a simple guava glaze. Easy peasy! It's best to prepare these chops on your outdoor grill. But if weather doesn't allow outdoor cooking, you can use a quality grill pan (as I did) and prepare the chops on your stovetop. For a full Island touch, you can enjoy these tasty chops while sipping a blended Piña Colada cocktail or a chilled Mai Tai cocktail. Ya mon!

How To Make guava glazed pork chops
-
1Trim pork chops of any excess fat. Set pork chops aside.
-
2Marinade: Slowly add olive oil to Jerk seasoning, stirring with a wire whisk. Add all remaining Marinade ingredients, stirring until well blended. Add 1 cup of the marinade to a gallon-size zip-lock plastic bag. Add pork chops, seal plastic bag, and turn several times to coat all of the chops with the marinade. Place plastic bag in refrigerator to allow pork chops to marinate for 3 to 4 hours. Turn bag a few times, to ensure all chops are evenly marinated.
-
3Guava Glaze: Mix together the BBQ sauce, guava pulp and blackening seasoning.
-
4Remove chops from the marinade; discard marinade. Grill pork chops about 10 to 15 minutes, basting every few minutes with guava glaze. Turn the pork chops and grill other side for 10 to 12 minutes or until done (no pink remains in center), basting every few minutes with guava glaze. NOTE: Total grilling time can vary, depending on thickness of the chops.
