Southern style breaded pork chops get a nice kick from the Cajun seasoning in this recipe. It'll satisfy your Cajun carvings. Serve it with chilled cole slaw, hot baked beans and homemade cornbread.

Ingredients For cajun style pork chops

  • 4 (8-oz)
    center-cut pork chops
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cajun seasoning (or creole seasoning)
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/2 cup
    plain yellow cornmeal
  • 1 Tbsp
    unsalted butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 md
    lemon, quarter (for garnish, optional)
  • 4 sprig
    fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

How To Make cajun style pork chops

    Sprinkle the pork chops with 1 tsp of the Cajun seasoning; set aside.

    Combine remaining 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning with the flour and cornmeal, and mix well. Coat both sides of pork chops with the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off excess.

    Heat butter and oil together in a large skillet over medium heat. Add seasoned pork chops, and saute for 7 to 10 minutes each side (thicker chops will require longer cooking time).

    To serve, arrange pork chops on 4 individual dinner plates. Squeeze lemon over each serving. Garnish each with a lemon wedge and parsley, and serve immediately.
