These salmon cakes are just awesome! The absolute best when served with a nice cheese sauce! Give them a try and enjoy :) The prep time doesn't include the 45 minutes in the refrigerator. My recipe for "A Nice Cheese Sauce" is posted too.

Ingredients For super salmon cakes

  • 1/4 c
    minced onion
  • 1/4 c
    mayo
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp
    seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1
    beaten egg
  • 1 can
    salmon (drained, skin and bones removed)
  • 1 c
    dry bread crumbs, divided
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter

How To Make super salmon cakes

  • 1
    Combine the first five ingredients. Stir in the egg, flaked salmon, and 4 tablespoons of bread crumbs. Refrigerate for 45 minutes.

    Divide mixture into 8 balls. Roll balls in the remaining bread crumbs. Flatten balls into 1/2 inch thick patties.

    Fry in melted butter for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until nicely browned.

    These are awesome served with a cheese sauce. That's how we enjoy them!
