This recipe came to me via my sister. A favorite at the famous Gilroy Garlic Festival. If you like scampi you'll love this recipe!

Ingredients For shrimp scampi

  • 2 lb
    medium raw shrimp, deveined and shell off.
  • 6 clove
    fresh garlic
  • 3/4 lb
    salted butter (3 cubes)
  • 1 jar
    capers, drained
  • 1
    lemon thinly sliced
  • olive oil for sauteing

How To Make shrimp scampi

    After you have deveined and shelled your shrimp, rinse it well and set aside.

    In fry pan saute minced garlic in small amount of olive oil. Add butter and melt, but keep a close watch not to burn your butter. Add capers and shrimp, cook shrimp for 2 minutes on each side, they will turn a nice pink color.

    Top with lemon slices and simmer till lemon is tender. Serve and enjoy!
