I love egg foo young and I like to add a little sugar to the gravy for a bit of sweetness. You can use any meat you like. Chicken and ground pork work well with this recipe. Bon' Appetite

Ingredients For shrimp egg foo young

    eggs
  • 8 lg
    uncooked shrimp diced
  • 2 c
    bean sprouts
  • 2 md
    shallots diced
  • 4 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 c
    mushrooms diced
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • GRAVY
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 4 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 c
    chicken stock
  • 1/4 c
    each soy sauce and oyster sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    each dry sherry and sweet chili sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    white pepper
  • 3
    green onions chopped for garnish

How To Make shrimp egg foo young

  • 1
    Beat the eggs and mix in all ingredients except oil. Get a skillet hot and add the oil. Pour eggs in 1/2 cup at a time to make a pancake. Brown on one side then flip and brown on the other. Remove from pan and repeat with remaining egg mixture.

    For the gravy add the butter to pan and melt. Add the flour and make a roux. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil whisking until thick.

    Pour gravy over egg and garnish with green onions
