Ingredients For shrimp and canadian bacon gravy

  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 6 oz
    Canadian bacon, cubed
  • 1 md
    red bell pepper, chopped
  • 4 stalk
    green onions, white and green parts separated and chopped
  • 1 ml
    jalapeno, seeded and chopped
  • 4 clove
    garlic
  • 4 Tbsp
    flour
  • 4 c
    chicken stock
  • 1 tsp
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb
    shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • cooked pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes for serving

How To Make shrimp and canadian bacon gravy

    Add butter to a large pan. Add the Canadian bacon and cook until browned; about 5 minutes. Add the red bell pepper, whites of the green onions, jalapeno, and garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle the flour over the top of the veggie mix and cook stirring constantly for 3 minutes.

    Slowly pour the chicken stock whisking to incorporate the flour and thicken the stock. Add the Worcestershire sauce. Lower the heat and let simmer for about 15 minutes. Add the shrimp and cook for about 3 minutes. Taste and season with salt and pepper

    Garnish with the green parts of the green onions and serve over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.
