Ingredients For seared ahi tuna with asian sauteed onions

  • 4
    ahi tuna steaks
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch
    italian dressing dressing mix
  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • ASIAN SAUTEED ONIONS
  • 4 lg
    white onions
  • 6 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1/4 c
    olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 4 Tbsp
    oyster sauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    white pepper
  • 3 Tbsp
    dry sherry
  • 2 Tbsp
    sweet paprika

How To Make seared ahi tuna with asian sauteed onions

    Season the tuna with salt and pepper. Rub the Italian seasoning packet on the tuna. Set aside while making the onions.

    Place the oil in a large skillet. Add the onions and saute for 5 minutes. Add the garlic and saute until the onions are golden about 7 more minutes. Stir in the remaining ingredients and cook another couple of minutes.

    Set aside and keep warm. Add the oil to a skillet and sear the tuna steaks for 4 minutes each side.

    Plate the onions and serve the tuna on top.
