Ingredients For domatesli karides sote (shrimp & tomatoes-turkish)

1 lbmedium shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 Tbspbutter

2 mdonions, chopped
-
2 clovegarlic, minced and crushed with a little salt

2 can(14.5 oz. each) diced tomatoes, drained

1 tspsugar

2 Tbspfresh basil, chopped

2 Tbspfresh parsley, chopped

2bay leaves
-
2 tspwhole black peppercorns, crushed lightly

salt and pepper, to taste
How To Make domatesli karides sote (shrimp & tomatoes-turkish)

1Saute the onion with butter in a large skillet over medium high heat for about 5 minutes. Add the garlic, tomato, sugar, basil, parsley, bay leaf and peppercorns. Reduce heat to low and cover. Cook for 20 to 25 minutes or until sauce thickens.

2Add shrimp, salt and pepper. Cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove the bay leaf and discard.
