While the crab legs are frozen take a heavy sharp knife and hack the legs to chip away some of the shell to expose some of the meat. About a slice every 2 inches but not all the way through. Let them thaw in the fridge overnight. In the morning remove them from the bowl and reserve 1/2 cup of the liquid in the bowl. Discard the rest.
