Ingredients For tomato basil bruschetta

8thins slices of french bread

2-3roma tomatoes, thinly sliced

1mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced. enough for 8 sandwiches

12-15basil leaves, chiffonaded
-
mayonnaise, i prefer hellmans

salt to taste
How To Make tomato basil bruschetta

1Place bread slices on a cooling rack that has been placed on a baking sheet.

2Place under broiler until just browned, about 2-3 minutes. Watch closely. I like to brown one side only.

3Remove from oven and turn slices over and spread with mayonnaise. Omit if you prefer, but it does give the sandwich a nice rich flavor.

4Sprinkle with basil.

5Top with tomato slices.n Sprinkle with salt.

6Top with mozzarella.

7Place back under broiler until cheese is melty. Remove and serve.
