These fantastic, and I do mean drool worthy fantastic, sloppy joes were a lunch offering at a bazaar I did at a local high school. After raving about them (seriously these are amazingly good, best I ever tasted) and asking for the recipe, I got it emailed to me the very next day. I am so glad Sharon shared this recipe with me, and just had to post it so you all can taste too! It's so good your mouth will water! Mine sure did!

Ingredients For sharon's sloppy joes

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/3 c
    chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped green pepper
  • 1 c
    ketchup
  • 1/2 c
    chili sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp
    ground mustard
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • hamburger buns

How To Make sharon's sloppy joes

  • 1
    Cook beef, celery, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink and the vegetables are tender. Drain.

    Stir in the ketchup, chili sauce, sugars, vinegar, mustard, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer, uncovered for 15 minutes.
