Ingredients For philly cheese steak ~ my way

  • 2 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 1 sm
    onion, finely diced
  • 4 oz
    sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 lb
    shaved steak
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • hoagie buns
  • butter flavored cooking spray
  • 1 c
    stadium style cheese sauce or cheese wiz (traditionally the cheese wiz goes on a philly, but i like the stadium style cheese sauce a little better)

How To Make philly cheese steak ~ my way

    Heat 1 Tbsp. oil up in medium skillet. Add onions and mushrooms. Saute until soft. Scrape into a bowl and set aside.

    Add another tablespoon of oil to pan only if needed. Bring to medium high temp and add steak. Cook until browned. Salt & pepper to taste. Set aside; keep warm.

    Meanwhile, heat cheese sauce in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.

    Toast buns if desired. I open them, spray them with butter flavored cooking spray and place them under the broiler for about 4 minutes.
