A different way to make a coney...Until I came to Ohio, I didn't know people put cinnamon in their chili to make a coney.

Ingredients For california coneys, mom's

  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c
    green pepper, chopped
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 8 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire
  • 1/3 c
    sweet pickle relish
  • 8
    hot dogs
  • 1 tsp
    mustard
  • 1/2 c
    shredded cheddar
  • 8
    hot dog buns, toasted

How To Make california coneys, mom's

  • 1
    Brown beef, onion and pepper. Pour off fat. Stir in tomato sauce, relish, salt , worcestershire and mustard. Add hot dogs, simmer 10 minutes. Put hot dogs in buns, top with sauce. Sprinkle with cheese. Serve with pickle strips and green onions in rings of green peppers, ripe olives and chips.
