This is my adaptation of a recipe from a church supper cookbook from the church John and I were married in. I used two different types of vinegar, but you could use any type you choose. White would be equally acceptable.

Ingredients For bbq ham

  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 Tbsp
    red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 3
    onions, chopped
  • 4 Tbsp
    sugar, heaping
  • 1 c
    ketchup
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 2 lb
    shaved ham, chopped

How To Make bbq ham

  • 1
    Saute onion in butter, add all remaining but ham and simmer 10-15 min, stirring occasionally. Add ham and cook until hot. Make into sandwiches. Can be kept in a crockpot.
