This recipe is from the Southern Cooking book 3, and it is great for parties. It does smell wonderful when cooking. I have served up to 20 - 25 people on a large ham. Just make sure it is SUGAR CURED not salt cured.

Ingredients For aromatic ham

  • 6 lb
    sugar cured ham
  • 1 bottle
    apple cider - enough to cover
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 2 Tbsp
    ground cloves

How To Make aromatic ham

  • 1
    Put ham in sprayed slow cooker with hock up.
    Add spices evenly around ham.
    Add apple cider to the fill line on the slow .
    Cover and cook 10-12 hours.
    Let cool for 20 minutes before slicing.
