easy tender spare ribs

This is a no-fail secret cooking technique. I have been making this recipe since the 1970s, when it was given to me by my Mother-in-law. She got this cooking secret from her family years earlier. It is juicy and tender every time. If you have your own secret spices, go ahead and put them in the water or on the ribs if you don't want BBQ Sauce. I use Kinder's BBQ sauce.

Ingredients For easy tender spare ribs

  • 1 rack
    pork spare ribs
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • water, to cover
  • bbq sauce, to taste

How To Make easy tender spare ribs

  • 1
    Prepare the ribs by pulling the skin off of the back side of the ribs.

    Cut the ribs to fit in a large sauce pan.
  • 3
    Cover the ribs with tap water.
  • 4
    Add the salt and garlic power. (Any garlic will work.)

    Heat the ribs to a slow boil and simmer 1/2 hour.

    Move the ribs to a sheet pan.

    Cover with BBQ sauce.

    Place foil over the sheet pan.

    Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree F oven for 45 minutes.

    Remove foil and continue baking 15 to 20 more minutes. (Add more BBQ sauce if needed.)

    Remove from oven and tent with foil for 10 minutes.

    Cut and serve.
